Only a few Oz books collectors can afford the luxury of owning a complete set of all 14 L. Frank Baum Oz books.
Complete sets of first editions varies in price based upon a books edition, state (printing) and condition. In general prices varies from $10,000 up to $200,000+ for a complete set of all 14 books.
The First edition set consist of following titles (1 - Wonderful Wizard of Oz, 2 - Marvelous Land of Oz, 3. Ozma of Oz, 4. Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz, 5. Road to Oz, 6. Emerald City of Oz, 7. As can be seen in the image below, we have over 200 copies of first edition Frank Baum Oz books that were published before 1920.
As you understand, we can always make a full set from our books from good to very good or set with some books in the original dust jackets..
Before we dive into pricing these sets, let examine books condition skipping books in poor condition.
Assuming internally all the books are same lets evaluate book front covers and spines on the scale from 1 to 10.
Since we ignoring books in poor condition,that falls into grading below 3, this book in fair condition and will be graded 3.
This book will be graded 4 - Good-
This book will be graded 5 - Good
This book will be graded 6 - Good+/Very Good-
This book will be graded 7 - Very Good
This book will be graded 8 - Very Good +
This book will be graded 10 - Near Fine / Fine
I hope you can easily see a differences between each copy. As a result, price of the set will depends on the condition grade of the books.
Assuming someone will be building a set from the same condition books, price of the set will flactuate. Usually book price double from one grade level to another.

If we are going to build a set of all 14 and skip first two titles, we can build a set of 12 with very good condition books for around $25,000.
The second book "Marvelous land of Oz" from 1904 true first printing in very good condition commands around $15,000. If this title has any portion of the dust jacket we are approaching over $50,000 just for one book.
The only book left to complete a set is the "Wonderful Wizard of Oz". This title is one of the most expensive to obtain. I have The Wonderful Wizard of Oz first edition article and videos covering this title on my website. To match a book to this set in Very Good condition, someone need to either obtain 1st edition , 2nd printing copy ( C") binding for around $25,000 or 1st printing of the "B" binding for around $60,000.
As a rule, most value of the set in the first and second book in the series. The first book alone in "A" binding worth over $100,000.
If someone decides to get a few books in the original dust jackets, the price of the set can easily approach $200,000 or more.
You might ask who can afford to pay $200,000 for Oz books? I will name just a few Oz fans and you can judge by yourself.
